Truly Reaching You is excited to celebrate a significant milestone this year: the 25th Anniversary of proven, holistic reentry programming for men on Summit County!
Since our founding in 1999, TRY has evolved and expanded in so many ways. We’ve become a recognized reentry model for the State of Ohio, while maintaining high-impact outcomes for men participating in the program. To this day, only 2 men (out of 200+ men served) have returned to the inside.
Through Founder Perry Clark’s vision and personal experience with incarceration (with wife, Lisa, and their deep faith guiding every step), TRY’s program model unequivocally changes lives.
The men who come to TRY have expressed the desire to make critical changes to their lifestyles and shed old habits, as they return to society from lengthy (or cyclical) sentences and addiction.
With help and support from our community, TRY is there, one man at a time, providing the unique mix of support that Perry Clark knew were essential for successful transition. As they progress through each phase of the program, they are strengthened and supported to while returning to the community as healthy, productive citizens and family members. TRY is humbled to support this work and witness these unique transformations.
With that, our 25th celebration has been given the theme “TRANSFORM”. This perfectly captures the impact of reentry work that heals and builds the skill sets needed for our men to become employed, stay sober, and thrive while making a permanent return to community and family.

We’re celebrating all year long, and busy making plans to invite friends, supporters, and partners all to the TRANSFORM Gala happening this fall. This festive gathering will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at our newly renovated Workforce Training and Career Development Hub on E. South Street in Akron!
Tour the Hub, learn more about TRY’s impact, enjoy delicious fare from Marques Restaurant, and enjoy wonderful company under Rubber City skies! This festive event will also mark and celebrate the finish of our WORK Campaign, a capacity-building and capital fundraising effort started in 2019.
